Affordable and accredited universities

Higher-education centers in Puerto Rico have institutional accreditations granted by private entities (recognized by the U.S. Department of Education) that certify that the instruction students receive matches the acceptable quality levels, according to evaluation criteria.

Some of the most important entities that confer accreditation to Puerto Rican higher-education institutions are:

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)

National Coalition of Alternative Community Schools (NCACS)

Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)

These are the same entities that certify American educational institutions. In other words, if you come to Puerto Rico to study you will benefit from a high-quality certified academic formation, but the costs are significantly lower than in the United States.

To calculate the average cost of studies in Puerto Rico, you can visit the “Study in Puerto Rico” section where you will find detailed estimated costs for each institution. You will see that in Puerto Rico the costs are lower than in most American institutions, yet maintaining the same academic accreditations and standards of excellence.
